About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Senior Accountant to join our firm to provide outstanding client service with the provision of quality, timely and cost-effective business services.

As our new Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting client relationship building and working collaboratively with the team and clients to deliver exceptional client service.

Skilled in the consulting process, you are able to analyse problems, design and implement practical solutions and manage projects. You'll contribute to and support the development of the team, continually building and sharing knowledge, and engaging in ongoing personal career growth.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CA certification is highly preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years practical experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Australian tax and accounting standards
  • Experience with MYOB AE and Xero software
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
  • Ability to work well autonomously and in a team environment
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to demonstrate diligence and high attention to detail
  • Advanced computer skills

Key Duties

  • Prepare financial statements and tax returns for multiple and complex entities including various trusts and corporate entities.
  • Process GST returns (BAS and IAS) as required.
  • Prepare small business and individual tax returns. Review and discuss with clients regarding outcomes.
  • Provide client assistance with compliance issues related to matters arising from PAYG, GST, Workcover, Superannuation, Centrelink and other government agencies.
  • Prepare various tax planning recommendations for clients.
  • Generate necessary journal entries and trial balance for checking.
  • Provide general assistance with the processing of all bookkeeping and accounting tasks for your team.
  • Provide general training and support to the staff and managers on all matters arising from research and taxation matters.
